Obverse

The Ministry of Finance was established by the manifesto issued on 8 September 1802. The mandate of the Ministry was to ‘manage state-owned and public units that provide revenues that the government needs for its activities and perform the general allocation of all revenues across various items of government expenditure’. The manifesto also required the Minister of Finance to ‘compile, at the end of the each year, a detailed table of general government expenditures for the next year’.
